   Our Place Preschool 

Our Place Preschool is a childcare service owned and operated by Jan Slade. Our Place Preschool caters for children aged 3 years to school age. Jan has been working with families for the past 25 years in a variety of childcare services.More recently Jan successfully operated a leasehold preschool in Nelson Bay CBD before making the decision to buy land and build a purpose built preschool. This was done in conjunction with our sister service "Our Place Play School". This is now also owned and operated by Jan, both services are on blocks that are side by side and compliment each other. This allows families to have their children attend the services from 0 to school age

Its All About The Children

Our Place Preschool is a child care service thats focus is to give your child the best opportunity to meet their full potential through a play based learning environment that has families, community, and educators working together.We are led by the children to promote our intentional teaching methods. We also have many spontaneous opportunities throughout the course of the day. Our scaffolding and extension of children's learning is determined by the child's individual skills, passion, and interests.We welcome families from all cultures and have access to bi cultural support workers if required.We believe children from all backgrounds deserve the opportunity to participate fully in all experiences. This is why there are no additional costs to families for excursions or incursions.We recognise the cost of living for young families and don't fundraise as a result.We are an environmentally friendly service and do our best to care for our children's environmental future through role modelling and education.

Operational Times

Our childcare service operates for 51 weeks of the year closing between Christmas and New Year.Our opening time is 7.30am and closing at 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.In the event that you are late there is a late fee that will be imposed.We have consistent educators from a variety of backgrounds that are all trained and skilled at working with children and families.There will be at least one person in attendance for the full duration of the day this way there will be opportunity to ask personally how your child's day has been.Or alternatively if you are time poor you can check out your child's day through our secure and private online App OWNA.
